This is an exciting post that will support the development of PRIME Centre Wales – the Health and Care Research Wales funded centre for primary and emergency care research. The post-holder will be an active member of PRIME Centre’s Operational Management Group. The post-holder will also contribute to the overall research record of the School and University, supporting and contributing to research leading to publications in high quality academic journals and impact, pursuing excellence in research and inspiring others to do the same.
The post is funded by the Wales Centre for Primary and Emergency Care Research (PRIME Centre Wales) and the post-holder will work with the Cardiff-based work-package Leads to achieve the strategic goals of those work-packages. Proposals across work-packages are particularly supported in PRIME’s strategy and goals for 2020-25. These work-packages are Dental; Infections and Antimicrobial Resistance; Palliative and Supportive Care; Person Centred Care; Patient Safety; Screening, Prevention and Early Diagnosis in Primary Care. Equitable assignment, to support all these work-packages over time, will be managed by the PRIME Centre Director, Prof Adrian Edwards.
It is envisaged that the post-holder will be able to contribute to research within specialist area in primary and unscheduled care, carrying out supporting work that helps lead to the publishing of research in high-quality journals.
The post-holder will also be given the opportunity to develop their own research career interests and experience, including committing time to specific funded projects where they have been co-applicants or named researchers, or for example seeking a personal fellowship.
