Our University of Surrey International Study Centre, in Guildford, is based in the heart of a beautiful campus that is extremely picturesque with a calm, peaceful atmosphere. The centre offers an International Foundation Programme, a Pre-Masters programme, and English language preparation courses. There are a variety of pathways offered on a range of subject areas on both programmes as well as a variety of students from all across the globe.

This is an exciting job opportunity where you’ll join on Life Sciences pathway as a biology tutor.  You will be teaching both medium classes and small seminars of international students studying on our Level 3 International Foundation Year. For this academic year we are employing a blended learning approach, meaning that you will be expected to deliver sessions both on campus and online via Zoom. You will also be required to interact with students via our VLE and therefore will need to be confident using technology. You’ll have the opportunity to work in an autonomous environment where student-centred, innovative lessons are encouraged.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

You’ll have the chance to deliver engaging lessons to students on Life Sciences pathway as a chemistry tutor. There will be up to 12 live teaching hours and further hours of asynchronous interaction and VLE development. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to the development of materials and formative assessment across the modules you will deliver.

EXPERIENCE

  • You will be a student-centred Tutor, with experience teaching relevant modules to a minimum of Level 3 to international students (Essential)
  • You’ll need a degree in a relevant subject area (Essential)
  • A Master’s degree in a relevant subject area is (Essential)
  • A teaching qualification is (Essential).
