The Field Spectroscopy Facility (FSF) is a NERC funded facility supporting UK environmental scientists with cutting edge equipment and techniques for their research. We are seeking someone to assist in the operation of the Field Spectroscopy Facility, helping it to provide equipment, training and expertise for field spectroscopy. The Operations Technician will work alongside the Operations Manager and the Equipment Manager.
The Opportunity:
The Field Spectroscopy Facility (FSF) is described here https://fsf.nerc.ac.uk. Over the next field season the FSF is tasked to provide hyper-spectral UAV flights in the UK and Peru, which the FSF staff will perform, in addition to equipment loans, training, field-testing and maintenance. The facility is due to apply for renewal in April 2024 and the whole team will contribute towards that process, helping to ensure that the facility evolves to meet the NERC community needs. The current funding lasts until the 31 March 2024. The renewal in 2024 will aim to extend the job for 5 years.
