The Role
This post holder is to take ownership and deliver this proposed and exciting research project within the time limits specified by the JGWP project grant (1 year). The post holder will receive supervision and support from 3 principal investigators based at the Newcastle University Centre for Cancer and have access to the full suite of infrastructure required to successfully complete this project. The post holder will work in the vibrant and stimulating research environment at the Wolfson Childhood Cancer Research Centre. Attendance and presentation of research progress at inter / -national conferences will be strongly encouraged.
The project consists of the following work package. Explore and determine potential molecular mechanisms underlying the observed drug synergy between Dasatinib and Dexamethasone in leukaemia (PMID: 32139432). This analysis might include chromatin and RNA immunoprecipitation, CRISPR knock-out and knock-in cell lines using bespoke PCR-based HDR donor templates, development of APEX2-/TurboID peroxidase-directed proximal biotinylation assays to define target protein interactomes, and the use of R to analyse proteomics data-sets and SUPPA2 for global splicing analysis.
