We are seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer to lead and reimagine our multidisciplinary Postgraduate Studies programme. As Course Leader of all taught and research-led postgraduate degree courses, you will be a creative practitioner and experienced university educator who demonstrates a broad understanding of creative methodologies and cultural theories across contemporary art, design and media practices and how these practices are taught at a MA level. We are currently revalidating our postgraduate curriculum and you will play an important role in shaping the ways in which our MA courses and MA student work contribute to AUP’s institutional research and commitment to creative innovation and our leadership in the creative and educational sectors.
As Course Leader, you will manage all aspects of the organisation, management, and leadership of Postgraduate Studies, collaborating with colleagues across the University to ensure that postgraduate students are fully engaged and represented in the life and scholarship of the university. You will contribute to the vision and ambition of Postgraduate Studies at AUP and inspire your team of Lecturers, Visiting Lecturers and Associate Lecturers to develop an exciting, challenging and meaningful curriculum for a diverse body of part-time and full time MA students from the UK, Europe, and a growing international cohort. You will be able to successfully manage the intellectual and social integration, through seminars, learning events and student tutorials, of multiple creative disciplines and cultural perspectives in a programme that speaks to the many challenges and opportunities within contemporary culture, the creative industries and society.
As a Senior Lecturer, you will be expected to develop your professional excellence in learning and teaching, research and scholarship, knowledge transfer, and in shaping our student experience in line with AUP’s strategic plan. The successful candidate will be professionally active in their field and willing to contribute to our research ambitions and international profile as an innovative, sustainable and inclusive arts university.
