We are recruiting a scientific researcher to undertake research investigating the structure and function of ESCRT-III proteins in archaeal cell division. The new position will be located at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge, UK within the group of Jan Löwe.
You will be an enthusiastic individual with a PhD in a relevant field of Biology or due to complete within 6 months, with a strong background in structural biology. The goal of the project is to understand the molecular mechanisms employed by ESCRT-III CdvB filaments to divide Sulfolobus cells, through a combination of structural and functional approaches. Experience with cryo-EM will be most helpful, as will be relevant experiences in biochemistry and/or molecular biology.
