We are looking for someone experienced in supporting students to help enhance student learning!

University College of Estate Management (UCEM) is a long-standing and leading provider of supported online education. We exist to provide accessible, relevant and cost-effective education which enhances careers, increases professionalism and contributes to a sustainable built environment. Operating from the UK and Hong Kong we have a global reach, and at any one time over 3,500 students are studying online with us. UCEM passed its first ever inspection by Ofsted with flying colours after earning an overall rating of ‘Good’ in November 2021.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the team in a role that is pivotal to student engagement and success. You will work directly with students and closely with academic colleagues, support staff and others in order to promote academic success and enhance student’s learning experience. This role is well suited to an individual who is passionate and experienced in supporting student success, with a knowledge of academic and apprenticeship programmes.

Your key responsibilities will centre around:

  • Proactively contacting identified ‘at risk’ students and supporting their retention and success by promoting and enhancing student performance and engagement.
  • Responding promptly to referrals for academic support from student self-referrals and colleagues.
  • Monitoring academic progress of students and recording evidence of student contacts to demonstrate and evaluate the effective impact of support activities.
  • Contributing to the pastoral care and motivation of students, supporting them and signposting them to appropriate internal and external specialist support.
  • Using mentoring and coaching skills when working with students to enhance their experience through the setting of goals and targets.
  • Participating in programme and module review and enhancement.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative student support initiatives.

At UCEM we expect employees to demonstrate our values: Passion, Integrity, Excellence and Support. Student satisfaction and success are our main drivers and our people consistently report high levels of employee engagement; your contribution will be valued should you join us.
