The post
The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences wishes to recruit a Graduate Research Assistant, Postdoctoral Research Associate or Postdoctoral Research Fellow to participate in supporting and researching Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) within the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration South West Peninsula (PenARC).
Graduate Research Assistant:
The work in this role is highly collaborative in nature, working closely with other members of the PPIE team, with PenARC researchers, and with our involvement groups (patients and members of the public).
Postdoctoral Research Associate/ Postdoctoral Research Fellow:
If appointed at this level, the role will be a two-pronged post within the PenARC PPIE team. The work is highly collaborative in nature, working closely with other members of the PPIE team, with PenCARC researchers, and with our involvement groups (patients and members of the public).
About you:
At GRA level the successful applicant will be able to engage members of the public in research, communicate complex research information to a range of audiences orally, in writing and electronically, in a public-friendly and accessible way. If appointed at this level, the postholder will have a degree in a relevant subject and practical experience of working with people in a caring capacity.
At PDRA/F level, the successful applicant will be able to present information on research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies.
At all levels we are looking for someone who thrives on meeting new people and is willing to reach out into settings where they can connect with individuals who are new to research and the opportunities it presents.
