Clinical Fellow in Interventional Cardiology

We are seeking a highly motivated Clinical Research Fellow in Interventional Cardiology. This post is suitable for doctors who are committed to a career in interventional Cardiology but seek experience in applied clinical research. It is not a suitable post for candidates with limited experience of coronary intervention or candidates who are not committed to a long-term career in applied academic cardiology.

 

You will support and help initiate research protocols in Coronary and cardiac physiology and imaging and take part in the interventional cardiology service and may participate in general inpatient and outpatient cardiology activities. Comprehensive cardiac audit has been an important part of the interventional service for a number of years. Completion of the database is an important part of the role. You will be expected to write medical papers and be motivated to publish in high impact journals.

 

You are required to hold a Primary medical degree (MB, ChB or equivalent) and have GMC registration or equivalent medical qualification. Relevant clinical experience in cardiology is also essential. Experience in medical research with evidence of publications in peer reviewed Journals would be desirable.

 

This is a full time appointment on a fixed term contract for 2 years funded by the BRC and you will be based at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, OX3 9DU.
