We are looking for high calibre and collaborative individuals for full-time Lecturer (Assistant Professor)/ Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) to join our growing Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Bath.

We would like you to strengthen our teaching and research with your interests in our well-established activities in future-focused technologies for sustainable energy, zero-carbon products and decarbonisation of processing. These positions are integral to our commitment, through our teaching and research activities, to address the significant challenges of today, including climate change, sustainable energy, population growth and ageing population, and clean water for all. All our research-active staff carry out research to tackle one or more of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

About you

You will hold a PhD and an undergraduate degree in Chemical, Biochemical, Environmental or Process Engineering or a very closely related subject. Through your research and teaching, you will be passionate about addressing the global challenges and educating the next generation of chemical engineers. This role will suit you if you

  • Enjoy working in a collaborative and supportive environment;
  • Can demonstrate a clear fit to the Department’s research profile with your research being in areas that include advanced membrane material development and scale-up, or tissue engineering-based bioprocessing. We welcome both wet lab and in silico research activities, including the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning in your research area;
  • Are passionate about teaching and have the ability to teach a wide range of chemical engineering subjects at both postgraduate and undergraduate levels on all our courses, including core chemical engineering subjects, process design, process modelling, and application of artificial intelligence approaches;
  • Have a growing publication record and international reputation appropriate to your career stage;
  • Have potential for winning and delivering on research grants.
