Working as part of the wider Executive Support Team, the role holder will provide high quality, professional financial and general administrative support to the School of Agriculture Policy and Development (SAPD).

Based within the School, this role has a key focus on delivering excellent levels of financial service and support to all levels of internal colleagues and external stakeholders.  The role requires specific skills including specialist knowledge of financial administration, and a good understanding of university systems and processes. The role will support the enhancement of the service provided within the school, through the development of new processes and the implementation of service improvements.

You will have:

  • Strong numerical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • An ability to problem solve and work proactively to provide a solution focussed style in your day-to-day work
  • Strong attention to detail and an ability to spot errors
  • Experience of working in a cyclical fashion to support processes such as financial year end reporting
  • An ability to convey complex financial information in a clear and coherent manner to those who do not use finance in their day to day role
  • Experience of using financial systems
  • Strong excel skills
  • Ability to maintain administrative and financial records
  • Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
  • Demonstrable knowledge of financial accounts and budgeting processes
  • Ability to balance competing priorities and meet set deadlines
  • Experience of resolving issues and queries independently, providing advice on specialist but established procedures to a range of stakeholders
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to work with a wide
