We are seeking to recruit a Senior Research Technician who will support the new Radiobiology Research Group of Professor Jason Parsons in the Institute of Cancer and Genomic Studies. You will provide an effective and efficient technical laboratory support contributing to cutting-edge research to investigate the cellular response to different forms of ionising radiation in head and neck cancer and glioblastoma cell models. Research will be coordinated in collaboration with the School of Physics and Astronomy, and particularly through the unique access to the MC-40 cyclotron capable of delivering different particle ions at conventional and FLASH dose rates, and through the new EPSRC-funded accelerator-driven neutron facility. The long-term goal is to use this knowledge to devise optimal radiotherapy strategies for effective radiosensitisation, and therefore treatment, of patients with cancers of the head and neck and brain.
