About the Role:

The Faculty of Health, Education, Medicine and Social Care offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. In Education these include the PGCert, MA Education, MBA, PGCE, as well as doctoral level studies. Our undergraduate provision includes Working with Children, Families and Communities, Early Childhood Studies, Montessori and Primary Education Studies, as well as our new BEd Primary Education with QTS (subject to validation). Our dynamic approach ensures that our students receive a high quality, research-informed, educational experience.

We have internationally excellent research in education, social work and social policy, and have a number of world-leading nursing and healthcare researchers in our faculty. We’re seeking an experienced, ambitious leader, who will be responsible for strategic leadership and operationalisation of Initial Teacher Training (ITT). You’ll work across sites to provide strategic direction and leadership related to mentoring, placements and partnerships, with overall responsibility for the design, development and implementation of an innovative curriculum. Importantly, you’ll be joining a team of motivated, dynamic, inclusive individuals who are aspirational for our students and wider communities, passionate about high quality teaching and research and committed to empowering professionals, supporting life-long learning and employability, and striving for a socially just and inclusive society.

With a Masters degree and qualified Teacher Status or EYITT, you will have strong teaching and research background and experience as academic leader in HE.  You will have proven effective leadership and management of academic and/ or professional service staff and experience of leading strategic developments/ organisations for ITT and with extensive involvement in HE governance and quality assurance process.
