About The Role
Falmouth University's ambitious 2030 Strategy, ‘Doing it for Real’, is designed to deliver yet further growth in our student numbers and income through portfolio diversification, innovation, research and commercial ventures. It will establish Falmouth as the market leader for creative industries and entrepreneurship education over the next decade, capitalising on our considerable assets in innovation-led research and business incubation.
Due to this growth, we are now looking to recruit a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Game Art to join our Games Academy.
This role will be key in supporting the fast-growing courses which combine foundational game art teaching with our game development team teaching model. We are also looking to expand into the area of real-time technologies and virtual production more broadly in the future. The Games Academy suite of courses has a unique multi-disciplinary approach to teaching games which aims to simulate a studio environment. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching in Higher Education on a similar degree, and/or experience in working in an Industry related role to Game Art. You will be versatile and be able to contribute significantly to an academy teaching team which spans several different disciplines, encompassing both academics and games industry professionals.
The successful candidate will join the Game Art teaching team supported by the Course Leader and Head of Subject, and potentially support modules which are shared across the Games Academy. Personal tutor responsibilities also form part of this role.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree and have experience teaching in Higher Education on a similar degree, and/or experience in working in an Industry related role to Game Art. You will be versatile and be able to contribute significantly to an academy teaching team which spans several different disciplines, encompassing both academics and games industry professionals.
We welcome those who have worked in the games industry, either as an independent developer or working in a games studio.
