Job Summary
The post holder will be involved in all aspects of maintenance of clinical studies within the Section of Paediatric Infectious Disease at Imperial College, following ethics, HRA and other regulations. The post may suit a candidate with experience as a Research Administrator, a Clinical Research Nurse or a Clinical Research Practitioner.
A key focus will be the DIAMONDS study (Diagnosis and Management of Febrile Illness using RNA Personalised Molecular Signature Diagnosis). We are the coordinating centre for this Horizon 2020-funded study, which is developing novel diagnostic test platforms that can diagnose different causes of febrile illness. Duties will encompass two main areas: (1) set-up, maintenance and closure studies following ethics, HRA and other regulation to ensure that study timelines are kept and that projects are run according to Good Medical Practice guidelines. (2) Involvement in day-to-day running of open studies, including liaison with other sites for Quality Control, administration including ordering and shipment of materials. There may be opportunities for simple wet-lab activities including the processing of research samples taken from recruited patients. The role will entail liaison with the study team (scientists and clinicians), Project Management, the Joint Research Compliance Office (JRCO), and research staff at participating sites.

This is a full-time position, fixed term for 2 years, based initially at the St Mary’s Campus, Paddington. From 2024, the Section of Paediatric Infectious Disease will be relocating to the South Kensington Campus.
The successful candidate will apply for an honorary license to attend at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, working closely with patients and the clinical team, and will be required to complete DBS checks.
