The University of Winchester are looking to appoint a Project Manager, or Building Surveyor, to the Projects & Estate Management Team in the Estates and Facilities Services Department. The role holder will act as the client-side Project Manager for the delivery of construction projects and addressing maintenance/building issues. In order to achieve these objectives the Project Managers will work with multiple stakeholders, both internally and externally, ensuring internal customer’s needs are clearly defined and met.
As a Project Manager you will be required to procure and manage project teams, to include internal stakeholders, multidisciplinary design/consultant teams as well as contractors. This will be undertaken in accordance with both University and public procurement regulations. Strong management of these consultants, suppliers and contractors is required, with the Project Manager ensuring robust contract administration is undertaken at all times.
Health and safety is a key priority, with consideration to be given to the safe undertaking of works as well as ongoing activities on the campus. To this end, Project Managers will be responsible for fulfilling the role of ‘Client’, as well as ‘Principal Designer’ where appropriate, as outlined in the Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015 on behalf of the institution.
