We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Student Opportunities Coordinator (maternity cover - 12 months) to join the Careers, Employability and Student Enterprise division, working within the Work Experience Team to support and increase the number of students undertaking work experience opportunities.
Your focus will be to encourage and support students to participate in our work experience programmes, in particular the UoS Internship Programme, influencing student engagement across all target areas. You will utilise messaging and marketing techniques to raise awareness of the opportunities on offer across our 25,000 strong student body and ensure information to students is readily available; regularly reviewing guidelines and processes to be fit for purpose. You will be a point of contact for students undertaking an internship, involved in their journey from application through to completion.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within teams are essential. As this post involves important record keeping alongside financial and administrative processes, strong attention to detail is paramount. Organisational skills and good presentation skills are also requirements. Experience of partnership working and marketing skills are desirable and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel is essential.
