Job Summary
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position to join the Metal Forming and Materials Modelling Group. The position is funded by an industrial partner and will involve working on a range of materials and forming techniques for automotive applications, with particular focus on aluminium welding.
The research activities of the group cover a wide range of areas from theoretical and computational solid mechanics to experimental materials research. There are two main research themes within the group:
Over the past years, the group has developed several world-class-leading forming technologies and advanced material models, which have been directly implemented in the industrial environment.

This is a fixed term position for 9 months in the first instance, starting from 1st March 2023.

This position is eligible for a hybrid working structure, with a minimum of 2 days per week on site.
Candidates who have not yet been officially awarded their PhD will be appointed as a Research Assistant within the salary range £38,194 - £41,388 per annum.
