Assistant Professor: £43,414 - £51,805 per annum; Associate Professor: £53,353 - £61,823 per annum.
2 x Permanent positions starting from September 2023, 1.0 FTE.
Research areas must be directed at helping to address one or more of the major challenges of our time in the broad area of sustainability. Examples of challenge areas include but are not limited to: atmospheric chemistry / air pollution, hydrogen generation (nanocatalysis, heterogeneous catalysis), carbon capture, the chemistry of battery materials, photovoltaics, and advanced analytical techniques (such as optical/laser spectroscopy) for analysis of pollutants.
Candidates should have an outstanding record of accomplishment in both research and teaching appropriate for career stage, and demonstrate imaginative plans for how they will develop their research to compliment and advance the research and teaching profile of the department. You will be expected to demonstrate an ability to attract external funding to maintain an active research programme and exhibit effectiveness and enthusiasm as a teacher of chemistry at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Your application must include a cover letter, a Curriculum Vitae, a research proposal (3 pages max.), a full list of publications, and a statement (1 page max.) explaining how you could contribute to undergraduate teaching in chemistry. In addition, you must include a statement (half-page max.) describing how you have previously helped to create and/or support an inclusive working and learning environment.
