The Institute of Astronomy (IoA) are seeking an experienced Outreach Facilitator/Administrator to coordinate and facilitate astronomy outreach activities across the Institute of Astronomy, Kavli Institute for Cosmology, Cavendish Astrophysics, Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics, and Kavli Centre for Ethics, Science and the Public. The University's astronomy outreach programme aims to promote our world-class research, educate and inspire the next generation of young scientists, and communicate to the wider public the excitement of Astronomy and Astrophysics.

The role holder will provide administrative support for both the existing outreach programme and the development of new outreach initiatives. Working closely with the IoA outreach team and education stakeholders across East Anglia, you will design and coordinate the delivery of events and activities which promote the Institute and our outreach programme, building networks and relationships with teachers, educations trusts and other educational professionals across Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, and Peterborough.

With experience of planning, coordination and administration, you will have well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, experience of using social media in a professional context and an awareness of the UK secondary school system.

Fixed-term: The position is full time and funds are available for this post for 3 years from date of appointment, with the possibility of extension. The position is full-time, part time considered at minimum 0.6 FTE.

Location: The Institute of Astronomy, University of Cambridge, Madingley Road, Cambridge, CB3 0HA.
