The University of Westminster has a long and distinctive history. Founded over 180 years ago as London’s first polytechnic institution, it has become known for the many ways in which it helps students to realise their full potential, regardless of background. Westminster’s founding values are to be progressive and questioning, with a spirit that reflects the University’s global reach and location at the heart of a world city which is home to diverse communities. Its teaching is practical, relevant, and contemporary. Providing grounded, holistic education with wide horizons and opportunities, it develops graduates who will help fuel growth and prosperity, and who become responsible citizens of the world.
The University now seeks a Director of People, Culture and Wellbeing, who will be key to the University’s future performance, growth, differentiation and purpose. The Director will act as a member of the University’s Senior Management Team and provide leadership for a range of business areas including Safety, Health, and Well-being; Organisational Learning and Development; Resourcing and Reward; Recruitment; Management Information Systems; and Advisory Services.
This is an exciting time for the University as we begin to deliver our 2022-2029 strategic plan, which is itself heavily focused on people issues. We are looking for someone who can enable the delivery of that strategic plan through culture change, leadership development, organisational quality improvements and transformation; someone who will promote excellence and ensure that we foster effective teams and continuous improvement and learning; someone who will work to make our entire University community feel included, supported, safe and well.
