The role
The Economic Development Manager identifies and exploits economic development opportunities for the University. The purposes of the role is to secure new funding for innovation infrastructure through the development of business cases for large-scale value propositions to local and national government.
The role sits within the Impact Development Team, which works with the academic community to shape and deliver plans for research impact.
What will you be doing?
The role holder will develop, draft and submit business cases for an ambitious programme of £multi-million, multi-year bids which leverage significant funding streams. They will manage the writing and development of bids through agile teams, securing cross-institutional support at all stages. The role will ensure that internal and external stakeholders can take robust go / no go decisions for complex funding propositions in a timely manner.

Applicants should have extensive experience of exploiting economic development opportunities and of identifying, applying for and securing funding via bids of scale.
The successful applicant will have the proven ability to develop large-scale funding propositions to local and national government and to manage and improve internal approval processes.
