An opportunity has arisen for a Technician to work within the School of Medicine’s Nottingham Digestive Diseases Biomedical Research Centre. This will be primarily based at Queens Medical Centre. The person appointed will be working in a busy clinical area, providing laboratory support to research studies. As a member of the team one of the key roles will be to process samples and the maintenance of facilities and equipment within the area to allow the safe and effective use of the laboratory.
Candidates should possess 2 A levels in relevant subjects or equivalent vocational qualifications (NVQ, City &Guild) or work experience in a relevant technical/scientific role. Demonstrated understanding of health and safety regulations and procedures, with experience in handling human tissue and the law surrounding HTA highly desirable. The post will require flexibility, dynamism, energy and initiative, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and good communication skills. The successful candidate will take a positive and flexible approach to work in order to deal with a variety of requests and tasks.
This position is offered on a permanent with under lying funding basis until 30 November 2027. Hours are full time (36.25 hours per week). Job share arrangements may be considered.
