JD Student Infomation Officer.pdf

RR Team Member 221010 v2.4 RB.pdf

The University of Law (ULaw) is one of the world's largest law schools. With an impressive history dating back to 1876, we employ over 1,000 staff and have over 14,000 students studying on our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, along with an alumni network in excess of 100,000. We were the first-ever independent institution to be granted degree awarding powers and in 2012 we gained university title. With a rich heritage and a reputation for innovation and contemporary teaching practices, we continuously focus on developing the best legal and business minds. In 2016, we opened our leading Business School, further enhancing our reputation as a full service legal, business and educational training specialist, operating from campuses throughout the UK, Berlin and Hong Kong and an Online campus.

What really sets us apart from other universities is the guiding principle that future lawyers and business leaders should learn in a realistic, professional and contemporary context, with plenty of practical interactive engagement. That's why we keep our contact hours high and our teaching groups small.

We have 1 permanent opportunity for a Student Information Officer to be based out of our Leeds campus.

Some of the duties will include:

  • Working as part of the Student Information team providing exceptional customer service to students and staff across all programmes.
  • Act as first point of contact, providing general information on a range of non-academic queries and supporting to ensure students have a positive experience whilst at the University.
  • assisting students in accessing specialist advice and support from other ULaw services including welfare, disability support and inclusion, employability and study skills.
  • Contributing to the delivery of a professional front of house service to students, visitors and staff in keeping with the expectations and standards required by the university and our stakeholders.

We offer an excellent range of competitive benefits including a generous annual leave allowance, private medical scheme, contributory pension scheme, life assurance, training and qualifications, and travel loans. As part of the tutor development programme, we will also support you to study for a recognised teaching qualification within your first 18 months of employment.

Please note, CVs will not be considered and only application forms are accepted for this role.

For an informal discussion about the role please contact Samantha.Rowley@law.ac.uk

No agencies please.

Some posts within the University are subject to a DBS check - you will be notified of this during the application process.

Our approach

Equity and Inclusion is central to everything we do. We are actively committed to promoting and participating in good practice in the way we attract and retain staff, as we appreciate the value and benefits of a truly diverse workforce. Aligned to this is the opportunity to join one of our three peer staff networks for Disabled staff, LGBTQ+ staff and staff from an underrepresented race, ethnicity and/or cultural heritage.

We celebrate difference and recognise the benefits that this brings to our inclusive culture, including age, disability, gender identity and expression, religion, race, sex, sexual orientation and socio-economic background. The University is committed to ensuring our workforce is reflective of our diverse student population and wider society; we are striving to increase the representation of Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds across all roles and at all levels. All appointments will be made on merit.
