The Department of Government at the University of Essex is a top-6 department for research excellence (REF2021) and hosts more than 45 internationally renowned scholars in political science and international relations.

Duties of the Role
The postholders will work in the context of Dr Federica Genovese’s “Varieties of Climate Vulnerabilities” Leverhulme Trust Research Leadership award. The duties include:

Qualifications and Skills required
The ideal candidates will have a doctoral level degree in political science or bordering social science discipline (e.g., economics, sociology) or be close to completion of PhD studies.
In addition, you will possess evidence of a developing research agenda, engagement in high-quality research activity and a developing research profile coupled with a developing record of publications in internationally recognised, reputable journals or evidence of research outputs such as reports and briefings.
You will have experience of working with developing and/or maintaining research resources used within a Department or wider user community external to the Department, coupled with demonstrable expertise in data collection and data management, including the ability to design, carry out and write up empirical research designs.
These posts are fixed-term, full-time until 30 September 2027 due to temporary funding.
