These are senior positions within the new Sport and Healthy Lifestyle Academy. There is the expectation that you will take the lead in the set-up of the Academy prior to its official launch in September 2023.
We are looking to appoint two experienced practitioners who have a strong interest in teaching and mentoring to lead our new Sport and Healthy Lifestyle Academy (SAHLA). The Academy will help to develop opportunities for students to gain valuable industry experience whilst helping to provide health and well-being services for the local community. The post holders will work within the new NTU Sport and Healthy Lifestyle Academy (SAHLA) to deliver and support high quality specialist exercise and performance programmes for a range of populations within the local community. This will be delivered across a diverse range of people and across multiple platforms.
Background information on the Department of Sport Science
The Department of Sport Science resides within the School of Science and Technology on the Clifton Campus and there are excellent collaborative opportunities with colleagues in Biosciences including the John Van Geest Cancer Research Centre, Chemistry and Forensics, Computing and Technology, Engineering and in Mathematics and Physics. Nottingham Trent University has a long and established history for delivering sport-related programmes. Currently the Department comprises 54 academic staff and ~40 PhD research students, as well as large undergraduate and taught postgraduate cohorts. Recent investment into the Department has enhanced our physical resources, research environment and the student learning experience. With four well-equipped physiology laboratories, the British Olympic Association approved environmental chamber, the recently refurbished performance analysis suite and two biomechanics and neuromuscular performance laboratories in the £4m Natural Sciences Research Centre, we offer a friendly environment of excellence and invite you to join us.
