The Role
We are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic, and adaptable individual who will provide support and assistance within the Prototyping Department. They will support the use of the hardware and provide learning materials and technical support to students and academic course teams across the institution including Media Lab which has a strong heritage and reputation for producing highly employable graduates with a distinctive personal design identity equipped with excellent technical and future proof skills when at the same time challenges them to offer solutions to transform communities with a sustainable approach.
You will work closely with our students, and academic staff creating, preparing and delivering specialist workshops, providing support to enhance learning, training and instructions covering Adobe suite, Z-Brush, Substance, Blueprint, Unreal or Unity, Blender, Maya (Overall Workflow). You will also support the Digital suite and the allocated assets, ensuring the academic delivery and smooth operations.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate has knowledge and understanding of Animation and/or Games Development workflows from concept creation to delivery. They will be aware of the industry design approach and practices using studio practices, software, hardware and other prototyping techniques to communicate ideas and experience today’s industry. They will hold a relevant graduate degree or industry experience in the area, and they will be able to demonstrate their knowledge and technical competence in both workflows and relevant to subject IT skills.
They will be able to demonstrate a deep understanding of learning and teaching methods and the challenges in a higher education environment. Experience in teaching and learning within an HE role is also desirable. The candidate will have a professional attitude and to-do approach to their tasks, will be interested in expanding their knowledge within their industry, and they will have the capability to design and deliver content relevant to their expertise.
The candidate will hold the talent to work autonomously in a self-disciplined manner, collaborate efficiently with the team, demonstrate a high standard of customer care and be highly proactive.
Please note that shortlisted candidates will be required to prepare and deliver a 10-minute presentation as part of the interview.
