Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Physical Education & School Sport

About the role

As Lecturer in Physical Education & School Sport, you will have a background in the pedagogical and sociological aspects of physical education, with the ability to teach practical activities, and experience in teaching and assessment at undergraduate level. Committed to enhancing the student experience, you will have excellent communication skills and the ability and commitment to design and implement innovative approaches to subject and module delivery. 

Holder of a PhD in a relevant field (or working towards) you will have an emerging or proven track record in research and publication with the ability to contribute to research activity across the complementary areas of sport and exercise sciences, physical activity and health, sports injuries, professional practice and pedagogy, and social science of sport and physical activity.

You will be expected to contribute to the research activities of one of our Research Units and meet the requirements for submission to the next Research Excellence exercise.

About you

You will be able to undertake the teaching and assessment of theoretical and practical aspects of our Physical Education and School Sport undergraduate degree programme and be expected to contribute to our other undergraduate programmes, to the Department’s research activity, and as appropriate, to the academic administration of the Department. This is an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer in Physical Education & School Sport to join our dynamic Sport and Physical Activity department that is committed to providing a high-quality and innovative teaching and learning experience.
