The Centre for English Language Education (CELE) is now seeking exceptional candidates to join us as Course Tutors in English for Academic Purposes (EAP).
About Centre for English Language Education (CELE)
Since the development of the Nottingham Ningbo campus in 2004, the Centre for English Language Education (CELE) has aimed to promote high-quality EAP teaching in its structure and support of academic programmes delivered in China. With over 110 academic staff, the CELE operation at UNNC is now one of the largest of its kind in the world and is currently supporting students on UNNC Preliminary Year modules, presessionals, summer schools and in-sessional language and academic skills support programmes.
Applications are therefore invited from suitably qualified English language teaching professionals able to offer experience and expertise in one or more of the following key fields:
About You
The successful applicant must have a Master’s degree in TESOL/Applied Linguistics (or similar postgraduate equivalent teaching qualification) with English as a first language (or equivalent competence). University foundation-level preparation and teaching experience, where the medium of study is English, is an advantage. They will primarily join the team responsible for delivering a portfolio of intensive EAP classes and continuing support to students both in the classroom and through online teaching (where necessary). However, dependent on individual tutors’ aptitude and experience, there is also scope for involvement in specific projects around teacher training, and the design and delivery of bespoke training packages in various aspects of ESP.

The successful candidate will be offered a fixed-term contract for up to 3 years, which may be extended by mutual agreement.
