We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our large nursing team at the Queens Veterinary School Hospital.
The referral hospital is a very fast-paced environment which requires the role holder to be adaptable with the ability to work well under pressure.

The role will be to provide nursing to an excellent standard in the Small Animal Wing. The small animal wing consist of four dog wards and two cat wards and a critical care facility housing an average of 15-25 patients during the overnight period. Nursing staff are supported by at least one ward assistant on all shifts.
We are looking for a nurse who can cover the following shift pattern on a 4 weekly rotating basis.
Week 1 - Early 07:00 to 15:30 (Friday finish of 14:30) Week 2 - Late 13:15 to 21:30, (Friday hours of 16:00 - 21:00) Then a Saturday morning shift this week of 09:15 to 12:15.
Week 3 - Core 08:45 to 17:15 (Friday finish of 16:15) Week 4 - Core 08:45 to 17:15 (Friday finish of 16:15)
Regular weekly hours will not exceed 36.5 per week. Shift timings may need adjustment to meet the needs of the business but currently will not fall outside of 7:00am and 22:00pm. Participation in weekend rotas may be expected with consultation.
The role in Small Animal inpatients will include surgical, medical and critical care nursing (training can be given in critical care procedures). Cleaning, hygiene and administration duties linked to inpatient care will form a reasonable percentage of the time. This is a varied role where no two days are the same, so we are seeking individuals with a passion for nursing, with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff, students and clients. The ability to work on your own initiative with minimal supervision is essential.
Temporary cover: This post is fixed-term for 12 months or the return of the post holder, whichever is the earlier.
