We are seeking an experienced, pro-active and enthusiastic individual looking to take a step up in their Trusts and Foundations fundraising career, to build on the University's successes in Trusts and Foundations fundraising.Results driven, this role will significantly grow the number and level of philanthropic grants from major trusts and foundations (international and UK-based) to the University of Bradford.
This role will manage a portfolio of trusts and foundations, will develop new relationships and lead on the writing of five, six and seven figure multiyear bids to a range of prospective funders.
The role holder will have excellent analytical skills to identify and prioritise projects around the University that are suitable for funding from Trusts and Foundations, and that support the delivery of the University's strategic objectives. With exceptional written skills, and a high level of attention to detail, they will have the ability to assimilate technical language and turn it into an articulate and compelling case for support.
The role holder will also have strong interpersonal skills and a high level of self-confidence that will enable them to work with University colleagues and external stakeholders at all levels of seniority, including adopting a relationship fundraising approach to cultivating potential funders. They will be highly self-motivated and can work independently and with your own initiative, but also be able to work effectively with colleagues in the office and around the University.
Reporting to the Senior Development Manager, and working closely with the Associate Director (Engagement, Alumni and Development), they will be a key member of the Development function within the wider Alumni and Development team, where appropriate providing support and mentoring to less experienced team members, as well as playing a pivotal role in delivering plans for a revitalised institutional case for support.
Additionally, this role will have oversight of the ambassador's network and take a strategic lead on the donor-funded scholarship programme. They will be expected to undertake travel in the UK (and potentially overseas) where required.
