About the role
Northumbria is recruiting for an experienced Operations Director/Manager to join our team to ensure the delivery of activities across our faculties. Northumbria is currently the THE University of the Year for 2022, and is embarking on a number of exciting developments including a new Centre for Health and Social Equity which will be part of an investment of over £300m in the estate in the period to 2030. This role will report into the Chief Financial Officer, whilst also working closely with Faculty Pro Vice Chancellors and their leadership teams. You will manage delivery across laboratories and workshop areas via the management of technical teams, as well as managing the administrative function within the faculties and how it interacts with our central processes and functions. This role will also take in lead in the delivery of strategic projects across the University as required, so refined stakeholder and project management skills are essential.
We would be pleased to hear from candidates looking to make a difference and wanting to progress within their career, or, to bring their existing skills and experience to bear within the University of the Year. Experience within Higher Education would be useful, but this opportunity would be equally well suited to an operational professional with a range of transferable skills who would welcome the challenge of this role.
The University is an excellent employer at which to develop. As well as our commitment to personal development, you will benefit from a flexible approach to hybrid working, generous pension and annual leave policies, and a wide range of other benefits ranging from the on-site sports centre to parental leave.
We particularly encourage applications from practitioners/individuals who come from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities, as we are currently under-represented in this area, although all appointments will be made on merit.
Further information is available in the job description.
