This is a great opportunity to shape and improve the policy and support environment around research strategy and funding at a Russell Group university. Research and Innovation Services (RIS) is a dynamic department at the heart of University activity. we facilitate academic collaborations, industrial interactions, knowledge exchange and impact development including commercialisation. We provide support to academics on research funding streams, preparing bid proposals, research ethics and integrity, and negotiating contracts for research & KEE. Our department supports business acceleration, local economic development, public and civic engagement and public policy.
This is a new leadership role that will bring together research information management and systems, with research funding development professionals to help drive delivery of the University’s research strategic plan, and research growth ambition.
In an increasingly competitive external funding environment, with intelligent use of data , you will develop and deliver strategies to grow and diversify research income and increase financial research sustainability within the University. Under your leadership, your teams will provide specialist services to develop and deliver targeted and impactful research support to faculties, both from the centre, and through hub and spokes arrangements with embedded staff in Faculties.
You will also lead on the delivery of research systems and support functions. You will develop and embed a culture of continuous improvement across your teams, leading, motivating and managing highly skilled professionals to deliver effective professional support, working closely with academic colleagues at all levels.
