We are looking to appoint a postdoctoral researcher to support the development of research led by Professor Kam Bhui, on cultural psychiatry and health inequalities with a special focus on ethnicity and multimorbidity. The post is based at the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital.
The post is for a fixed term (funded for 12 months or to 30 June 2024 for candidates starting after 1st July 2023).
You will work closely with Professor Bhui to ensure timely and efficient preparation of research grants and support the statistical elements of delivery of team research. You will adapt existing, and develop new research methodologies, and the evolution of appropriate statistical models in secondary data and planning new data collection.
You will have or be close to the completion of a PhD in a relevant subject along with relevant experience and a strong interest and understanding of mental health research (we welcome applications from people with lived experience) and health inequalities (particularly engaging marginalised communities using creative methodology).
With excellent communication skills, including team and partnership work, you will have demonstrable experience of research delivery, grant writing and publication. Experience of applying for NHS research governance, including applying for ethics and relevant site approvals would be desirable.
