We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Director of Sustainability who will be accountable for the continued development of the University’s Sustainability strategy (Glasgow Green) including allied plans such as the Carbon Management Plan and the Biodiversity plan. Reporting into the Executive Director of Estates, you will initiate, drive and deliver all sustainability projects with the clear intent of achieving the University’s ambition of net zero operational carbon emissions by 2030.
The role will require you to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders both within and external to the institution in delivering innovative solutions ensuring a consistent, proactive approach across the University.
You will have the ability to lead, influence and motivate teams and provide direction and coaching to the dedicated Sustainability team. You will have demonstrable experience in developing successful business cases, investment appraisals and analysis and delivering project benefits as well as developing and delivering innovative, future-focussed solutions.
With significant professional experience, having recently held a senior post in a corporate team, consultancy, or corporate public sector, you will demonstrate a high level of written and oral communication skills and the ability to produce and implement strategic policies. You will have the gravitas, influencing and people skills to effect change and contribute to senior level decision making within a highly performing university.
