This new part-time post (0.1 FTE) is available from 1 May 2023 on a fixed term basis until 31 July 2025.

This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.

The role

The Faculty wishes to recruit a Lecturer (Doctor of PsyDy/PsyAn Clin Prac) (Education and Scholarship) to support the delivery of the Doctorate in Clinical Practice Research & the DPPClinPrac programmes and the teaching out MSc in Psychological Therapies and Clinical Training programmes.

The post will include responsibility for the design, development and production of teaching and learning material to be delivered across a range of clinical training and research modules within the Studies in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy clinical training and research area. You will work with the Doctor of Clinical Practice Research, The Doctor of Psychodynamic and Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Clinical Practice programme & the MSc in Psychological Therapies and Clinical Training programmes’ team to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of teaching programmes in accord with the faculty’s education strategy and implementing the External Affairs strategy. 

About you

For a Lecturer post you will:

  • The successful applicant will possess sufficient breadth or depth of specialist and core knowledge in the discipline, demonstrated by a PhD or equivalent, in a relevant clinical profession to develop teaching programmes, and teach and support learning in this academic/clinical training area.
  • Use a range of delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students;
  • Participate in and develop external networks, for example, to contribute to student recruitment, secure student placements, facilitate outreach work, generate income, obtain consultancy projects, or build relationships for future activities;
  • Will have evidence of excellent teaching identified by peer review and have made an impact at discipline programme level beyond their own teaching;
  • The applicant will also have experience of qualitative research methodologies as applied in psychoanalytic practice. You will also have knowledge and experience of teaching on clinicians in a relevant field or discipline and in distance learning methods and in supporting distance students.
