An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Anatomy Section at SGUL for a Lecturer in Anatomical Sciences. The appointee will join a vibrant and innovative team of academics, clinicians and support staff to deliver at under- and post-graduate level on courses including Medicine, Biomedical Science, Physicians Associate Studies and a wide range of healthcare related programmes. Practical activities take place in the Dissection Room (DR) with a focus on cadaveric resources, prepared using formalin and soft fix approaches, supported by potted pathological specimens, anatomical models and audio-visual equipment.
The anatomy section aims to expand its education portfolio through the development of a Masters programme and the successful candidate would be expected to significantly contribute to the development and delivery as part of the strategy.
Applicants must hold a first degree and a PhD or postgraduate clinical qualification in the relevant field and experience of anatomy teaching and scholarship in a higher education setting. Experience of course design, assessment, small group teaching and supervising undergraduate research projects is desirable.
Applicants will be required to deliver a 10-minute presentation on:
‘You are asked to deliver a 10-minute presentation aimed at year 1 MBBS students introducing them to any anatomical concept. The students will have already had an introduction to anatomical terminology’.
