University College, Oxford is seeking to appoint a talented and experienced Catering professional as their Hall Steward. The post-holder will report to the Head Steward and Executive Chef and be involved in managing a dedicated Front of House team serving in the Hall and Senior Common Room (SCR).
You will lead by example and manage service delivery in the SCR and Dining Hall to ensure excellent service from point of entry to departure (e.g., greeting, speed of service and food and beverage delivery, fulfilment of special requests etc). You will liaise with internal customers (the Kitchen, the Conference and Events team and other stakeholders) to ensure the functions they organise receive a consistent and excellent level of service.
This is an exciting time to be joining Univ and the role is an outstanding opportunity and challenge for a proven specialist. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, outstanding organisational skills and an ‘eye for detail’. S/he will have supervisory experience and the ability to coach others. In addition, excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Some flexibility in working hours will be required, as the post holder will attend events in the evening or at weekends.
