About Queen Mary

Queen Mary University (QMUL) is a Russell-group research-intensive University that delivers world class research and Higher Education in the UK and overseas. The School of Biological & Behavioural Sciences (SBBS) at QMUL runs a Joint Programme (JP) with Nanchang University, China. In this programme, students substitute nearly all of the first three years of their Nanchang undergraduate medical degree with a modified version of the QMUL BSc in Biomedical Sciences, that is taught in English in Nanchang, China, principally by UK academic faculty flying out to deliver the teaching in small discrete blocks of teaching.

Most of the formal lectures are delivered in Nanchang, although the successful applicants will be based on the Mile End campus, when not abroad.

The Lecturer will also make significant contributions to student education and the student experience on the Nanchang JP through regular updating of taught material, assessments and timely and collegiate engagement across the entire JP. An element of educational scholarship is also expected offering the opportunity for pedagogical research.

At Queen Mary University of London, we believe that a diversity of ideas helps us achieve the previously unthinkable. Throughout our history, we have fostered social justice and improved lives through academic excellence. We continue to live and breathe this spirit today, not because it’s simply ‘the right thing to do’ but for what it helps us achieve and the intellectual brilliance it delivers. We continue to embrace diversity of thought and opinion in everything we do, in the belief that when views collide, disciplines interact, and perspectives intersect, truly original thought takes form.

Benefits

We offer competitive salaries, access to a generous pension scheme, 30 days’ leave per annum, a season ticket loan scheme and access to a comprehensive range of personal and professional development opportunities.
