The Courtauld Institute of Art is a research-led, independent College of the University of London, with one of the world’s most prestigious programmes of art history, curating, and conservation. It is also home to one of the greatest art collections in the UK, The Courtauld Gallery. Founded by collectors and philanthropists in the 1930s, the organisation works to advance how we see and understand the visual arts and is at the forefront of the study of art through advanced research and conservation practice, innovative teaching, and the renowned collection and inspiring exhibitions of its gallery.
Reporting to the Dean and Deputy Director, the Academic Registrar provides a vital leadership role and is The Courtauld’s expert on academic administration, quality assurance and academic standards. With responsibility for the effective operation and shaping of the department of Student and Academic Services, as the Academic Registrar you will exercise oversight of a broad portfolio of activities spanning Admissions and Enrolment, Academic Programme Management, Student Data Management and Student Services (inc. Wellbeing). As well as advising the institution’s Senior Management Team on the implications of Government policy and changes in national practices, you will ensure regulatory compliance across your areas of accountability and will play an incredibly important role in ensuring The Courtauld’s students have an outstanding experience from application to graduation.
To apply you will be a proven leader with successful experience in a senior academic administrative role, a detailed understanding of the higher education regulatory and compliance environment, and a commitment to providing an excellent and inclusive student experience. You will be an experienced people manager with the ability to motivate and inspire others to deliver continuous improvement. With a calm demeanour and a collaborative approach, you will have excellent interpersonal skills and able to demonstrate success in establishing productive relationships, challenging current practice and influencing key decisions.
