Applications are invited for the above temporary full-time post working in the Department of Psychology at Bangor University.
This role is in support of the ESRC Research Grant “A dynamic interactive account of human visual action understanding” led by Prof Paul Downing (Bangor University) with international collaborators Prof Angelika Lingnau (Univ Regensburg, DE)and Prof Marieke Mur (Western University, CA). The main objective of this project is to develop and test a new framework that is aimed at explaining how human observers quickly and effortlessly understand the meaning of other people’s actions, which provide vital social cues about their intentions, beliefs, and personalities.
Candidates will be expected to hold a BSc in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, or other closely related discipline. Practical experience of involvement in research projects in one of these disciplines (additional to degree requirements) is desirable. Practical experience with statistical analyses and data visualisation in R, and with open science frameworks such as OSF, are desirable.
The successful candidate will be expected to commence at the start of September 2023 and the post is available until 28th February, 2026.

This role will be located on campus at Bangor. Through our Dynamic Working framework, there will also be the option to spend some time working remotely (although remaining in the UK) to support work life balance, which will be discussed further with candidates at interview.
