Our strategy at Coventry University continues our drive to provide a high-quality, inclusive, and empowering global education to anyone who can benefit from it. It maintains our belief that, through education, people are empowered to grow and advance in society. We all want to make a difference, we would like you to join us.
Working in the School of Future Transport Engineering, you will be committed to contributing to our continued success. You will join a School already recognised for its high-quality and real-world teaching, state of the art activity-led facilities and an approach guided by and focused on industry. You will deliver and develop courses which foster a first-class educational experience while nurturing and producing industry-ready graduates.
The School values forward thinking, student-centred learning experience and well-developed industry relationships while embracing different cultures, backgrounds, abilities, and experiences of our students, colleagues and partners to create opportunities for all. As result, we are currently ranked in the top 10 in the Guardian University Guide 2022 for our courses in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive, Aerospace and Manufacturing. As a new member of staff, you will be joining a global institution at the forefront of teaching and innovation achieving several awards including the Gold Teaching Excellence Framework in 2017 and this year’s Queen’s Award for Enterprise and Innovation.
We are seeking to appoint 2 enthusiastic early career academics to specialise in delivering and supporting modules within our aerospace engineering UG and PG degrees. The successful candidates will provide teaching in core fundamentals and more specialist aerospace subjects - one role centred around aerodynamics, CFD, flight dynamics or aerospace system design and another around aerospace structures, FEA or aerospace propulsion system design for example.
You will need to share our passion for delivering a positive student experience that puts excellence in teaching and learning at the heart of everything we do and will be able to demonstrate significant knowledge in your area of specialisation. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of teaching and provide academic support for groups of students. You will also contribute to the assessment of one or more modules and under the supervision and guidance of a senior academic member of staff, act as an Academic Personal Tutor to students.
This post is teaching centred where you will focus on modules at different academic levels. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the delivery of teaching so that it is engaging, innovative and responsive. Your drive will be to achieve excellent student learning outcomes.
This is a teaching focused post that will attract candidates from both academic and industrial backgrounds. The candidate should be qualified to a minimum Honours Degree level and ideally have relevant industrial experience or a recognised teaching qualification and/or a higher-level qualification such as a Master’s Degree or PhD.
