We have an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer in Health Psychology/Behavioural Sciences related to Dentistry at the University of Glasgow. The University of Glasgow’s Dental School is the second largest in the UK and the largest in Scotland. It is consistently ranked amongst the top Dental Schools in the UK, achieving 1st place in the Times & Sunday Times Good University Guide, and 1st place in the UK Guardian University Guide [Dentistry] for 2023. Research in the dental school is multidisciplinary, ambitious, and internationally recognised. It includes the Community Oral Health group’s leading role in the evaluation of the Childsmile national child oral health improvement programme for Scotland.  

You will play significant roles in the development and delivery of both the research agenda of the Dental School and in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. The focus of the post is Research and Teaching. You will be expected to lead on qualitative and mixed-methods research within the Community Oral Health group, working on research in the areas of dental public health, evaluation of complex public health interventions, and implementation science. You will lead on developing and delivering teaching in areas including communication skills, team working, non-technical skills (human factors), and in Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion.

We welcome applications from candidates who hold an Honours degree in relevant subject area (e.g. Psychology) and hold a Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 12 (PhD) or equivalent in related discipline (e.g. Health or Social Psychology, Public Health or Social Sciences applied to healthcare) with a growing reputation for research and scholarship within a Health Psychology / Behavioural Sciences subject area.
