This exciting opportunity provides fixed-term maternity cover for an established Public Engagement with Research Officer in a University that is proud of its commitment to engaging with the public. As part of the Research and Impact Strategy Department, you will take forward embedded and emerging initiatives for growing and improving public engagement strategy and activity across the University. The role will work with key stakeholders, including staff, students and public and community representatives to support the development of a culture and environment where public engagement is seen as a two-way dialogue that supports broader research and impact objectives.
You should have a degree (or equivalent qualification or relevant professional experience); experience of working closely with researchers to plan, deliver and evaluate engaging activities and events for the public; the ability to support the development of organisational strategy and implementation plans; experience of planning, designing and implementing a widespread programme of training; and excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to act as a single point of specialist expertise. The post is available for up to 12 months.
