The Department of Civil Engineering & Industrial Design at the University of Liverpool is embarking on an exciting period of growth of its academic staff base, and we are looking for staff to join us in delivering multidisciplinary world-class civil engineering research in the key areas of net zero, climate crisis, resilience, and future cities, whilst also providing innovative, research-led teaching input to our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
We are looking to enhance our geotechnical engineering research group with a new additional appointment at Lecturer level; someone with a passion for innovation in developing geotechnical solutions that meet pressing environmental challenges.
The successful candidate will be an excellent researcher with ambitious future research plans who has an established track record of academic endeavour. This will include papers in internationally leading journals in their field and the potential, or demonstration of the ability, to attract significant funding from a range of sources.
Job applications are particularly welcome from women, ethnic minority and/or marginalised population candidates who are under-represented in academic posts in the School. Appointments will be made on merit only.
The University has the right to close the vacancy early if it is deemed that there have been enough applications received.
