The Support Analyst is responsible for managing the Workstation Refresh programme. The focus and objectives of the role are to deliver the timely, efficient and customer focused Refresh programme to evidence clear deliverables, against the budget.

The main objective of the Support Analyst will be the refresh of desktop devices to ensure all staff and students have access to the hardware and IT services to fulfil their responsibilities.

  • Inform the Business Case(s) to secure expenditure for future phases of the Workstation Refresh
  • Monitor delivery of stock against orders and the approved Business Case(s)
  • Prioritise the roll out programme on a rolling three-month basis, aligned to the Business case(s)
  • Plan the roll-out including the resources to deliver the plan
  • Develop and deliver the communication plan to ensure all stakeholders are informed of the plan
  • Take responsibility for scheduling the issue of laptops to staff
  • Schedule the configuration and deployment of laptops to staff, based on the schedule
  • Maintain accurate records of staff who have been invited to collect a laptop including specific laptop requirements and completion of the refresh
  • Produce and share weekly reports to the Assistant Director, Cost and Quality, of the progress of the rollout programme to include risks and mitigations
  • Ensure appropriate stock levels of laptops are maintained on site
  • Ensure compliance with Cyber Essentials

Education / Skills:

Educated to Degree level or equivalent.

A relevant professional qualification such as: ITIL ® Foundation in IT Service Management.

 Able to demonstrate proficiency in:

  • Knowledge of the IT infrastructure (hardware, databases, operating systems, local area networks etc) and the IT applications and service processes used within own organisation.
  • Installation, testing and commissioning of supplier specific equipment and software in all legitimate operational environments.
  • The knowledge and ability to install and maintain hardware systems in a way that ensures they operate within their planned specification and are safe to use by those authorised to work with them.
  • The use of everyday desktop software including word processing, spreadsheets, graphics.
  • Methods and techniques for reporting progress and financial conformance against an agreed plan.
