We are looking for a Flow Cytometry Specialist to join our team of five technical staff providing a high quality flow cytometry and cell sorting service for research groups within our world leading laboratories at the Institute for Regeneration and Repair building complex at Edinburgh Bioquarter.
This post is advertised as full-time (35 hours per week); however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.
The Opportunity:
Our laboratories facilitate truly translational research, providing the launchpad for concept to first in man clinical trial studies. We seek a knowledgeable, approachable and adaptable candidate with excellent communication skills for this position. The post holder will work with the facility manager, flow cytometry specialists and technicians, to ensure that the facility is running smoothly with responsibilities including, but not limited to, the calibration and operation of state-of-the-art cell sorting instruments, advising on sample preparation, panel design, user bookings and maintenance. You will also be responsible for training researchers in the use of the flow cytometry analysers and assist with data analysis.
