A three-year postdoctoral position is available for exceptional candidates with high-level skills in the advanced structural characterisation of new inorganic materials through advanced electron microscopy methods. Candidates should have a strong publication track record and demonstrated commitment to research excellence. Expertise in structure solution using electron microscopy methods is essential for the role, and candidates should make their relevant experience clear in their application. This position forms part of an interdisciplinary team working with experimental and computer scientists as part of the Leverhulme Centre for Functional Materials Design, which aims to change the way in which new functional materials are discovered. We welcome applications from ambitious researchers with the skills to contribute to the project goal across chemistry, physics and materials science. The project environment will facilitate the development of new skills and the demonstration of creativity and leadership.
Any applicants who are still awaiting their PhD to be awarded should be aware that if successful, they will be appointed at grade 6, spine point 30. Upon written confirmation that they have been successful in being awarded their PhD, they will be moved onto grade 7, spine point 31 from the date of their award.
