The Department of Mathematical Sciences at University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) seeks to fill an academic position at the level of professor.
The Department of Mathematical Sciences currently runs two degree programmes, which lead successful graduates to University of Nottingham degrees in BSc Honours Mathematics with Applied Mathematics and BSc Honours Statistics. Some of our students spend the last two years of education in Nottingham, UK, but most of them graduate in Ningbo, China. All our teaching is delivered in English, which is the academic working language of the university.
About You
We seek to appoint an articulate teacher, with international experience of teaching in English, as the successful candidate will be expected to lead and deliver lectures and seminars in Mathematics.
The person appointed will be expected to supervise postgraduate research students, to conduct their own research activities and to play a leading role in the research activities of the Department.
The position is open to candidates that are internationally renowned for their research with a strong record of highly regarded publications and attracting research grants. Applicants must have successfully supervised at least four PhD students to completion. Applicants will currently hold a professor rank or ideally have at least five years of experience at reader/associate professor rank.
Your Remuneration, Benefits and Support
This is a permanent post that you will be offered a fixed term contract initially of 5years with University of Nottingham Ningbo China with effect fromFebruary 2024 or as soon as thereafter.This contract may be extended on an indefinite basis based on mutual agreement. Salary will be within the range of RMB 762,597 to RMB 1,001,768 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience (salary progression beyond this is subject to performance). In addition, an attractive package including employment support allowance, first arrival and repatriation allowance and insurance will be provided for international appointments. A wider range of Chinese talent schemes application opportunities and government subsidies based on the eligibility of application will be offered.
