As an Advanced Practitioner in Construction, you will play a pivotal role in elevating our teaching standards and promoting best practices across the Construction Faculty. This role offers a unique opportunity to blend your pedagogical expertise, leadership skills, and educational research to positively impact our students and fellow educators.

Main purpose of job role

The role will report in to the Head of Department, work closely with the Head of Teaching, Learning & Assessment and will work collaboratively with Advanced Practitioners across the College, and other cross college projects and priorities, with the purpose of raising standards of teaching and learning.

The role will be required to demonstrate, promote and embed excellence in teaching, learning, support and assessment. The role will drive forward practices of teaching and learning across the College through identifying individual professional development needs, devising and implementing bespoke CPD, mentor and coaching to ensure that positive outcomes are achieved for individuals and learners. The role will have a reduce teaching timetable of approx. 10 hours (responsibilities in line with the Programme Tutor job description).

Key accountabilities

· Lead on the promotion of excellence in teaching/support, learning and assessment

· Promote excellence in teaching, learning and support through own practice whilst supporting colleagues to achieve the same standards.

· Develop and maintain a faculty specific professional development programme, in consultation with the HoD, that is bespoke to individual tutor support needs and capture College wide development priorities

· Develop and maintain a faculty wide programme, in consultation with the HoD, to continuously review and refresh learning resources that ensures learners are engaged, progress and achieve high grades/outcomes.

· Participate in cross College projects linked to the teaching, learning and assessment

· Support and assist tutors with planning and creating courses on VLE platforms and other internal systems

· Be at the forefront of innovation in teaching practices, and support the college to achieve excellence and Grade 1 ‘Outstanding’.
